Our Story
Reaching Those In Need With The Love & Power Of The Gospel
In Pocatello, people are going unnoticed. Not because the need is small, but because it is easy to miss if you are not looking. Valley Mission exists to look. To show up. To walk with people through the hardest chapters of their lives until they find solid ground.
About Us
Providing Compassionate Care For Our Community
Our Mission
To meet people where they are — with food, shelter, care, and community — and walk alongside them through the entire journey from crisis to lasting stability.
Our Vision
A Pocatello where every person has a safe place to land, a path forward, and a community standing with them. We are building the programs and partnerships to make that vision real, one guest at a time.
Rescue
When someone is in crisis, the first response matters. We show up without conditions, offering food, safety, and a human connection at the moment it is needed most.
Recovery
Stability takes time. Through shelter, case management, and consistent support, we walk with guests as they address the root causes behind their hardship.
Restoration
We believe every person carries more than their worst moment. Life skills, culinary training, and holistic care help guests rebuild confidence, health, and purpose.
Re-Engagement
Leaving a program is not the finish line. Twelve months of follow-up support after graduation means guests stay connected to community as they step into their next chapter.
Our Statement of Faith
Valley Mission is a faith-based organization, and we are not quiet about it. Our belief that every person carries inherent dignity and worth shapes how we serve. At the same time, emergency shelter is for anyone who needs it. No faith is required to receive care here. We serve because we believe people matter.
Street Reach
Our Mission’s Story & Community Outreach
For many people living on Pocatello's streets, our Street Reach team is the only consistent human contact they have. Not a flyer. Not a hotline. A person who shows up, learns their name, and keeps coming back. That relationship is often what opens the door to everything else.
Our Leadership & Board
Valley Mission is led by people who are deeply invested in Pocatello and the neighbors we serve. Our day-to-day leadership team guides the work each week. Our board, food pantry team, and Street Reach team bring the mission to life in the community every day.
